Kanakia Spaces Pvt. Ltd., the flagship real estate company of the Kanakia Group, was founded in 1986 by Rasesh B. Kanakia in Mumbai. Over nearly four decades, the group has diversified beyond residential and commercial real estate into cinema exhibition (launching the Cinemax multiplex brand in 1997), education (the RBK Education Institution, established 2002), and hospitality (Courtyard by Marriott, 2010). The company has been recognized with industry awards including the CNBC Awaaz CRISIL CREDAI Real Estate Award and the MCHI Property Award, and continues to expand its commercial portfolio, including a joint venture with Hines, Mitsubishi Estate, and Sumitomo Corporation for a large office development near Bandra Kurla Complex.
